New Mexico!!!!

We were in New Mexico for the Balloon Fiesta this month! Might I add...DROVE THERE. We're not as seasoned as some people we know. How do SOME people do it about 4 times a year?? Amazing-taking a 10 hour drive both ways (8 if you're my Mom, though). The weather was beautiful, thanfully,

So Beautiful.

We had a wonderful time at the hot air balloon preview the children's school hosted!

And the girls had pedicures! Emma used peppermint oil in the hot water we used to soak and wash our feet. Soo smart and sooooo yummy!

While the boys played with the geico. Yuck.

It was soo cool to see the 700something balloons dotting the sky!

As usual, Tay lookin' cool.

Then we got to watch Tay's soccer team make score after score against the other team

(while we got a nice tan)

And, of course made a stop at the Banana Leaf.

Our last night, we made Peach Glazed Stuffed Pork Chops!! The children were more into it than I ever hoped they would be! Jaime and Emma didn't even get queasy when they stuffed the pork! And you should have seen Taylor shove those toothpicks through each chop's pocket! I hope my own children will be as excited as these three were, making new and exciting foods with their Momma. ;)

And, though we were bummed to leave, stopping at 4-Corners helped ease the (my) sadness.

As we all know, as fun as it is to visit, it's VERY nice to be back in your own home.

Crafty Woman

So. While Jonathan went out Home Teaching on Thursday, I got together with some ladies from Relief Society for our scrapbooking club. Normally, when I attend I just bring my cross-stitching because I simply don't have enough confidence in my crafting abilities. But this time we were LEARNING! So I left the cross-stitch project at home and picked out some paper for our craft that I fell in love with.

We were making paper lunch bag scrap books!! It was easier than I ever expected and I was surprised to find it made me feel the way cooking a new dish does. So I wanted to share my JOY. :D

There is nothing nobler or more admirable than when two people who see eye to eye keep house as man and wife, confounding their enemies and delighting their friends.

I am soo happy to finally begin a blog! It's been too long and my old blog template wasn't going anywhere so I had to find one that inspired me. ;O) I think it worked.

Coming up on the weekend, we're looking forward to spending more time together. The longer we're married, the less time we'll have to be together so we are enjoying it while we can. I know we'll be loving retirement when it comes because we can't seem to get enough of each other. I can't imagine what it would be like otherwise.

Our life consists of work, church, family, friends and FOOD. I've LOVED this time I had to learn all about cooking the typical homemade meals and...sometimes not soo much the familiar. Through it all, I have found a very willing test subject in my sweet husband and I am very grateful for that. My bathroom scale may not be soo understanding however.

Tonight my sweetie is taking me out on a date! So I'm going to get all dolled up. xoxo
